| Here's an excerpt from the music department bio:
"George Hinojosa, Jr., a native of San Antonio, is a senior at UTSA and will be completing the bachelor of Music Studies (Education) degree in the Spring of 2003. While attending school, he plays trumpet for local church services,jazz and mariachi groups. George also gives private music lessons to middle school and highschool students and performs with the San Antonio Municipal Band. He is currently playing with the UTSA Wind Ensemble, UTSA Symphonic Band, UTSA Jazz Ensemble, UTSA Orchestra, and the UTSA basketball Roadrunner Band. Over the years, George has had the privilege of meeting world-renowned trumpet players such as Wynton Marsalis, Maynard Ferguson, and Allen Vizzutti. While in high school, George made the All-State Marching Band, TMEA Area Band, 1st Region Band, All-District Band, and was awarded first division at the state level competition for solo and ensemble."
After finishing my undergraduate work, I plan to continue my studies at UT-Austin in Music Education/Administration.
He is currently the Director of Bands at Connell M.S where he has given them their first ever sweepstakes award at uil.
He has been honored by the school board, featured in the express news paper,a district web page write up and has been awarded the 2005 outstanding graduate award. |
