| After a terrific start out of high school (I received appointments to all four military academies), I have settled into a conventional life in Richardson, Texas. I left the U.S. Air Force Academy after two years (before incurring a military committment).
The next three and half years at Southwest Texas State University were the best years of my young adult life - my success in college was the polar opposite of my dismal performance at USAFA. My last years in college included a year spent in graduate study in order to fulfill my term in student office, having been elected President of The Associated Students (student government).
After working for a couple of large corporations (Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Texas and IBM for fourteen years, I embarked on an Information Technology consulting career that I have pursued to this day. My latest jobs have included positions at the Director of Information Technology level, specializing in software development.
Every couple of years, I head out on a guys-only trip. We go off-roading, hiking, camping and sightseeing. We call it our Excellent Adventure. So far, we have been to northern New Mexico (twice), western Colorado (twice), and the Appalachian Trail. Next, it's the Badlands of South Dakota.
I have temporarily put off my MBA studies while I pursue PMI (Project Management Institute) certification.
I am currently looking for my next great job / career. |
