1974 35-YEAR REUNION

Highlands High School Class of 1974 celebrates its 35-year reunion October 10 & 11, 2009 in San Antonio.  For details on a banquet and family picnic, please contact Rebecca Chavarria, the event organizer at:  Owls74hhs@aol.com.  Please put your name (maiden name) in the subject line.  Classmates are asked to join FACEBOOK and befriend "Rebecca Chavarria" in order to obtain all details for the schedule of events, official reunion hotel and instructions for online pre-payment.  No walk-ins or payment at the door will be accepted.   Persons who are not 1974 graduates will be placed on a Waiting List, so as to ensure that all '74 graduates are accommodated before non-grads are allowed to purchase tickets for either of the events.

NOTE: "Rene Sanchez" wrote - Hello there my fellow Owls! Just some random thoughts on the reunion...NO glass containers allowed in the park...I need to know how many guests you will be bringing, for two reasons 1. I'm required to hire security and the number of officers required is based on attendance and 2. I need to know how many BBQ plates to order. As of right now we plan on hiring Snoga's BBQ to cater our event. There will be a couple of those moon bounce gizmo things for the kids...plan on having potato sack races...egg and spoon races...three legged races...softball or kickball game and if I can get my wife to agree, face painting! This is all still a work in progress, I welcome any suggestions.

UPDATE: Hello to all! There are certain upfront costs associated with bringing our reunion to fruition. Namely rent, security, and food. The main, and most likely only, income stream is the selling of the BBQ plates. Appetizers and Socializing, Blue Star Brewing Company Restaurant & Bar, 1414 S. Alamo St.
    Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase. See Web site for more info: www. bluestarbrewing.com. We will have the banquet room and outside patio.

2 to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 12: Families welcome
Class picnic, Comanche Park, Pavillion 2, 2600 Rigsby Ave.
    Dance to your favorite 80s music! BBQ meal catered by Snogas Bar-B-Que. Bring an ice chest with drinks but no glass containers. Children can bring toys, games, bicycles, etc.

Cost is $20 per adult which covers both events. This includes appetizers Friday, and one BBQ plate with tea Saturday. If you have children or other family members attending the picnic, you can order extra plates for $6 each on the registration form. Or, you are welcome to bring fast food/restaurant take-out food or a picnic from home.
